The Monthly Press: October 2026

Hey developers!
I'm not launching rocket cars or making quantum computing breakthroughs (yet), but I made a lot of changes to Git Pushups. Hopefully you love them all:
- All features are free:
- My goal with this project is to have fun and get developers moving.
- You may remember that hackathons from last year inspired me to monetize the app early on. I don't think it's a good product fit.
- All paid subscribers will receive a refund for this year (thank you for supporting the project!)
- You can now support the project by sending me a tip
- Apple Watch is live:
- Leave your phone at home and get your pushups in with the watch app alone
- Customize how often you get blocked
- You can now block yourself from coding multiple times per day. See our installation instructions at gitpushups.com
- Some basic email loops
- I don't like spam, but emails do serve as a good "accountability buddy".
- You'll get one (like this!) every month unless you opt out.
- Better website design
- GitHub issues resolved:
- #21: Android app link
- #20: Apple Watch support
- #13: Paywall padding (thank you @LoganWeir)
- #14: One-liner install script (thank you @ibash)
- #6: Claude Code / Cursor integration and setup instructions (thank you @cronin)
- #19: Replace subscriptions with donations or one-time payments (thank you @LoganWeir)
- #23: Machine-discoverable interface
- #28: SEO improvements — canonical homepage URL, automatic HTTPS redirects, and a clearer search description (thank you @Shpigford)
That's all, team! Thank you for doing (over 40K!) pushups with me!
